About Us

IDESIO is a spin-off of the University of Bologna. It integrates the research experience of Radio Networks, the group led by Prof. Roberto Verdone at the University, and Embit srl, a company founded and led by Dr. Fabio Bonizzi.

The IDESIO team is composed of Prof. Roberto Verdone of the University of Bologna (and members of his research group), and Embit srl, a company with expertise on IoT and embedded systems, led by Dr. Fabio Bonizzi. The team has competencies developed during almost thirty years of research activity at international level, within many projects financed by the European Commission, National funding bodies and companies like Telecom Italia, NEC, Microsoft, Intel, GD and many others. These competencies are integrated with an industrial component, Embit srl, which has been operating for more than a decade in the area of embedded systems and IoT for many eminent clients such as A2A Smart City and others. The mixture of capacities of the IDESIO team sets the ground for an enormous potential in the fields of smart cities, precision agriculture and industry 4.0 applications.
